Post Election Day
I have a lot of time to make up for here on the blog but first and foremost today is the day the Nov. 4 election results came out. I was on pins and needles yesterday even though we were on an expedition to Stratford-upon-Avon with the FSU students. I had to wait until this morning to get the election results due to the time difference. The news is crushing. I've been disheartened all day and have tried to talk myself out of it to little avail. Ralph and I had tickets to "The Cherry Orchard". I once again in a long line of confusion confused which play we were set to go to. I'm mystified by this confused state I am in and all the mistakes I have been making. It's hard not to just throw up my hands and stop trying. Back to the play. I was glad to have the distraction. This is truly a horrendous day for Progressives in the USA. I want to blame some one. I've been reading the news reports. Haven't arrived at an explanation yet. There is Fox News and Citizens United. And there is the disavowal by Dem candidates of Obama. It seems to me so apparent that the powers that be (who are becoming more and more unassailable/unaccountable and disconnected from the general populace every day) are pulling out all the stops and hoodwinking the general population into voting against the general population's best interests. This oligarchy assumes entitlement and we are rabble. It's so obvious to me. End of rant. The play was great. More later on another entry.
