I just wrote a letter and realized some of this I should be writing on the blog. It was chilly here yesterday and there is a slight chill to the air just now Not sure what time it is...before noon, I suspect. (I've checked now and it's 9:50 a.m.)It's sunny. Yesterday there were rain storms. The flat is full of light. The parlor has French doors overlooking a small patio with rod iron table and chairs and a couple of park benches. This is walled up to a height of about three (four?) feet with bricks with an opening of a couple of feet through which you step down a step into an area set with flagstone and greenery. The entire area is fenced to a height of about six feet. There are trees in either our garden or the neighbor's on all sides so it is very private. Ivy covers the back wall. There is rosemary and thyme and lemon thyme. ANd there is a garden shed about six feet square full of tools and garden chemicals. The flat is two-storied with a small entrance hall, kitchen, and parlor on the back from which there are stairs up to a landing from which there is a bath, study, and bedroom. There is a gate at the front which leads a garden path to the front door. Yesterday there seemed to be young adults everywhere. Ralph just met a neighbor, Lucy, who is a curator at the portrait gallery. Her husband is an endologist (?) at the national museum? Another friend of the owner came by this morning, as planned, to explain the heating system. Ralph went out for coffee and croissants this morning. He is much more observant than I. He's always planning ahead where we might find things. We will need to go for groceries soon. There is a cart here and a shopping bag. Should be an adventure to buy only what we can carry. I think I may have a touch of asthma. Good thing I brought Advair and inhalers. Haven't used Advair in months. I heard from Danny (yea!) and have heard from Jane Pollard and Jane Walter. Well, Ralph is taking a shower and I suspect he will be raring to go when he gets out so I'd better be off.
